Ideal for front of class, this large directory takes students through the steps of constructing a piece of non-fiction text. Six different types of non-fiction texts are identified: Explanation Texts, Reports, Discussion Texts, Persuasive Texts, Recounts and Instructional Texts. Students are guided through the various stages from planning, to writing, to editing. Each text type is themed (e.g. Should schools have uniforms) and examples of writing structure and language features relating to that theme are given.
